Kaduna internal security worsens as rampant phone snatching, stabbing alarms dominates social media

…KSMC staff, others fall victims

Security alert alarms raised by security experts, spirited individuals, friends and relatives, on alleged flashpoint of snatching of phones and other valuables and dastardly stabbing of resistance by criminal elements have continue to dominate social media space in Kaduna and its environment.

Recalled that penultimate early this week, the Nigeria police command kaduna state announced the arrests of 27 suspected criminals and phone snatching syndicates in kawo area of the state alone with dangerous weapons and hard drugs.

Social media, especially WhatsApp group platforms have been overwhelmed with alarms messages of the flashpoints and times of the operations of the criminal gangs prior before and after the arrest of the 27 suspected criminals by the police under the proactive directive of the current state commissioner of police.

Cases of victims of phone snatching and stabbing of people trying to resisting them are being reported on daily basis in the metropolis, according to local radio stations programs.

Some of the alarms statement obtained by our reporter reads: “If you are residence in Kaduna State, kindly take note of these Flashpoints for snatching of phones and stabbing dastardly acts:

The 18 areas listed includes Kawo under the bridge; Anguwan Dosa/ Badarawa bus stops; Raba Road under the bridge by Arewa house; Anguwan Sarki/Sannu bus stops, Total filling Station by Abakpa bus stop; Utc bus stop anything from 7 pm up; Cooperative bus stop central market; Kano Road bus stop and Sarduana bus stop.

Others are Stadium Roundabout; Bakin Ruwa to Train Station; Amingo junction bus stop; Kabala West bus stop; Abuja junction especially from 7pm up; Sabo by black street and many more; Kachia road by Dambo, using ATM at that axis once is 7pm is suicidal and Barnawa, Between Gidan Sama to Holy Family Catholic church respectfully.

According to the circular statement, “These miscreants have nothing to lose due to the substance they abuse and most times they are under the influence, so they can do anything to get hold of one’s phone or gadgets.

“They usually profile isolated, lonely victims to attack; this is so because they are vulnerable at the moment. In order to feed their habits, they can do anything”, it stated.

The statement recommended remedy adding”What to do if you’re around Such mentioned Areas, saying. “If you are driving and in slow-moving traffic, ensure your car window glasses are fully rolled up completely”.

“Ensure valuables are kept out of sight (iPads, laptops, bags be kept in the boot). if you must charge your phone, keep it in the glove compartment or on the floor under your feet.

“If you’re on foot, discipline yourself not to hold your phone in your hand anything from 6pm upward put your phone on silent or vibration.

“Discourage usage of earpiece during certain hours, 6pm upward at the aforementioned areas, as you are a red flag for attack.

“Secondly using an earpiece reduces security consciousness. Remember these guys are desperate to maintain their habits and thereby are ready to kill to get high on drugs”, it noted.

“So always be security conscious.
If you are attacked and you have nothing to defend yourself with, quickly give them the phone and walk away; if you do that, they will run away and leave u alone, the phone is mostly all they want.

“Don’t prove Bruce Lee because you are dealing with lunatics, it is better to live and buy another phone and die for nothing.

“If riding a bus and you up and are sitting by the window pls don’t flash or use your phone except if you are sitting behind or in the middle.
Using earpieces at this time must be discouraged.
