JAMB extends sale of 2026 Direct Entry to 8th May

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the deadline for the sale of its 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application forms to May 8, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their registration.

The extension, which moves the earlier closing date forward, is part of efforts to ensure that no eligible applicant is excluded from accessing tertiary education opportunities this year.

In a statement signed by Fabian Benjamin, Public Communication Advisor of JAMB, the extension was described as part of a broader commitment to widening access to higher education in Nigeria

In a move to ease congestion and improve access, the Board also approved five additional centres to support the ongoing registration exercise, particularly in high-demand areas.

The newly designated centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, Mini Campus of the University of Ilorin in Kwara State; Bells University of Technology in Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye; the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House) in Lagos, which is scheduled to begin operations on April 30.

The Board reiterated that all its offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) and Professional Testing Centres (PTCs), remain open to accommodate candidates seeking to complete their applications.

Candidates are advised to take advantage of the extended window and complete their registration promptly, as the Board is unlikely to grant further extensions.
