JAMB exposes fake 394 UTME result circulating online

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked a viral Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result slip claiming a candidate scored 394, describing the document as entirely fake.

The forged result, widely shared on social media platform X, alleged that a candidate identified as Okon Winniefred Sampson achieved 394 out of 400 in the 2026 UTME.

In a statement issued on Sunday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin raised concerns over the spread of the fabricated result, noting that even educated Nigerians had circulated it.

According to the Board, the document does not match its official format, stressing that UTME results are currently accessible only through its designated platforms and remain strictly “view-only” at this stage.

JAMB said the existence of a downloadable or printed result slip is therefore suspicious, adding that the circulating document appears on a fabricated template.

The Board also highlighted discrepancies in the registration number, pointing out that the unusual “20269” sequence does not conform to its standard system-generated format.

It stated that several inconsistencies in the slip clearly expose it as fraudulent, even on basic inspection.

JAMB urged the public to disregard the fake result and rely solely on its official channels for accurate information, reiterating that “all results at the moment are view-only.”
