Kaduna Launches MNCH Week To Drastically Reduce Maternal and Child Morbidity And Mortality Rates

Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB), in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and support from various development partners, has officially flagged – off this year’s Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) week.

The event, inaugurated by Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe underscores the commitment of Kaduna State Government to securing and enhancing the health and well-being of its citizens.

The primary objective of the MNCH week is to significantly reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality rates. This initiative focuses on implementing high-impact interventions specifically designed for children under the age of five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and women of reproductive age.

MNCH week represents a targeted and strategic approach to improving maternal and child health outcomes in Kaduna State. Through this unique program, the government aims to enhance healthcare delivery and address critical health challenges facing mothers and children, ultimately contributing to healthier communities throughout the state
