The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity and recommit to national development as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

Umahi made the appeal in a goodwill message issued on Friday in Abuja, congratulating Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan.

He described Eid-el-Fitr as a period of reflection, gratitude, and renewed dedication to spiritual values, including sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and obedience to Allah.

“I warmly felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of Ramadan,” he said.

The minister stressed that the lessons of Ramadan promote peace, justice, and kindness, particularly towards the less privileged, urging Nigerians to uphold tolerance, unity, and mutual respect for collective progress.

Umahi also encouraged citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace, stability, and sustainable development in the country.

Reaffirming his ministry’s commitment, he said efforts would continue to focus on delivering infrastructure that supports economic growth and improves the quality of life for Nigerians.

“May Almighty Allah accept good prayers and acts of charity, and bless our nation with peace, prosperity, and good health,” he added.
