British Airways Suspends Some Middle East Routes Until June

British Airways has announced the temporary suspension of several flights to destinations in the Middle East, extending route reductions amid ongoing regional instability.

The airline confirmed that services to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai, and Tel Aviv will remain cancelled through 31 May. Flights to Doha have also been suspended until 30 April, with a limited operating schedule planned until the end of May.

In a statement, the carrier said the decision was driven by continued uncertainty in the region and instability in airspace, leading to adjustments in its flying programme. The airline explained that it has extended earlier reductions to manage operational risks and maintain safety.

Routes to Riyadh and Jeddah will continue operating, while flights to Abu Dhabi are scheduled to resume on 25 October, in line with previously announced plans.

The disruptions come as global airlines face rising fuel costs and changing passenger demand linked to tensions in the Middle East. Carriers operating across the Gulf region have been particularly affected due to airspace restrictions and shifting travel patterns.

Industry observers note that the situation has placed pressure on international aviation networks, with multiple airlines adjusting schedules to respond to geopolitical developments and fluctuating operating conditions.

British Airways said it will continue to monitor the situation and update its schedule accordingly, prioritising safety and operational stability as conditions evolve.
