Reps Opposition Caucus Questions Non-Implementation of 2025 Budget
Opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives have raised concerns over the alleged failure to implement the 2025 Appropriation Act, warning that senior finance officials could face calls for removal.
In a joint statement, leaders of the opposition caucus said a strategic meeting has been scheduled to review fiscal governance, legislative oversight, and the performance of minority leadership in the House.
The lawmakers accused the executive arm of failing to release funds for capital projects despite legislative approval of loan requests and assurances that budget obligations would be met.
They also plan to demand full documentation of bills passed by the 10th National Assembly, including official records and gazetted laws, citing concerns over recent tax legislation.
The caucus said the meeting would also assess internal leadership performance and consider corrective measures where necessary.
