Tribeca Film Festival to Premiere Documentary on Wizkid’s Global Success
A documentary chronicling the rise of Wizkid, one of Africa’s most iconic musicians, is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2025. Titled “Wizkid: Long Live Lagos”, the film follows the Nigerian superstar’s journey from Lagos to global stardom, highlighting his influence on the international music scene.
Directed by Karam Gill, the documentary features exclusive interviews with key figures, including Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti, Wizkid’s manager Jada Pollock, long-term associate Sunday Are, and media personality Julia Adenuga. The film captures Wizkid’s impact on African music and how his artistry has reshaped global perceptions of the continent’s sound.”Wizkid: Long Live Lagos” will be screened at Tribeca on June 6, 7, and 11, 2025. Following the premiere, Wizkid and Karam Gill will participate in a discussion about the documentary and the artist’s career.
