Court Warns Sowore of Bail Revocation Over Absence

Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has warned politician and publisher Omoyele Sowore that his bail could be revoked and an arrest warrant issued if he fails to appear at the next hearing in his ongoing cybercrime trial.

Sowore, who is being prosecuted by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly making false claims against President Bola Tinubu, was absent from Thursday’s hearing along with his legal team.

The prosecution confirmed that Sowore was duly served with a hearing notice. Justice Umar noted that this was the first absence by the defendant and adjourned the trial to March 16, emphasizing that failure to attend the next session would prompt revocation of bail and issuance of a bench warrant.
