The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Abdulrahman Muhammed, has officially scheduled its National Convention for March 28–29, 2026, in Abuja. The announcement followed the 105th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, chaired by Muhammed with Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

The NEC reaffirmed the legitimacy of the Abdulrahman-led caretaker committee, which will continue acting as the National Working Committee until new leadership is elected. The committee also set the timeline for party congresses: Ward and Local Government Congresses in February 2026 and State Congresses in March 2026.

The party directed the caretaker committee to issue comprehensive guidelines for the congresses and convention, ensuring adherence to the PDP Constitution, INEC regulations, and relevant court rulings. Additionally, the NEC called for unity among members, stressing discipline and collective interests to strengthen internal democracy, restore stability, and position the party for future electoral success.
