Bill and Hillary Clinton to Testify in House Epstein Investigation
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify before the US House regarding deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein. The couple’s appearance follows disputes over subpoenas and unredacted investigative files that had exposed victim identities and sensitive materials.
The Justice Department recently released documents, photos, and videos linked to Epstein’s activities. However, oversight was required after victims’ names and other personal information were left visible. Attorneys representing the victims requested immediate redactions and takedown of online files.
The House investigation, which has raised concerns of partisan pressure, focuses on the government’s handling of prior Epstein-related cases. Both Clintons submitted sworn statements detailing their knowledge of Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Bill Clinton acknowledged travel on Epstein’s plane for humanitarian work but denied visiting Epstein’s private island, while Hillary Clinton reported no personal interactions with Epstein.
Following their agreement to testify, the House Rules Committee postponed any vote on contempt proceedings, emphasizing that the investigation applies to all witnesses equally.
