INEC Sets Timeline for PVC Collection and Mock Accreditation in Anambra

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released key dates for voter card collection and a mock accreditation exercise in preparation for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

According to a statement from INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta-Messi, eligible voters who participated in the recent Continuous Voter Registration can collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from Wednesday, October 22 to Sunday, October 26, 2025. Collection must be done in person at designated Registration Areas.

Additionally, a mock accreditation exercise is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, across selected polling units in the state’s three senatorial districts. The exercise will test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and evaluate the efficiency of result uploads to the INEC Result Viewing Portal.

Polling units selected for the exercise include:

• Anambra Central: Awka South (Amawbia II – Igwédimma Primary School I & II), Idemili North (Nkpor II – Ububa Village Square, Ifeadigo Hall)
• Anambra North: Oyi (Nteje III & IV – Girls Secondary School, State Primary School), Anambra East (Aguleri II – Central School, Umunoke Public Square I)
• Anambra South: Aguata (Ekwulobia I & II – Central School, Urban Girls Secondary School), Orumba North (Ajalli I – Primary School, RCM KDT School)

INEC urged residents in these areas to participate actively, noting that feedback from the exercise will help refine operational procedures ahead of the November 8 election.

The governorship race marks the conclusion of Governor Charles Soludo’s first term and is expected to be fiercely contested by major parties including the Labour Party, All Progressives Congress, PDP, and APGA.
