I’ll work with you, Tinubu assures Benin president-elect
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Benin Republic’s president-elect, Romuald Wadagni, assuring him of Nigeria’s support and readiness to strengthen bilateral ties.
Wadagni, Benin’s Minister of Finance, won the presidential election held on April 12 with an overwhelming majority of votes.
In a congratulatory letter, Tinubu said the victory reflected the confidence of the Beninese people in Wadagni’s vision and record of service.
The President noted that Nigeria and Benin share deep historical, cultural and economic ties, expressing optimism about working closely with the incoming administration.
According to Tinubu, both countries would continue to cooperate in advancing regional security, economic growth and stronger integration within ECOWAS and the African Union.
He also wished the president-elect wisdom, strength and success as he prepares to assume office.
