Adelabu has not resigned as power minister, aide debunks report
The Special Adviser on Strategic Communications to the Minister of Power, Bolaji Tunji, has dismissed reports claiming that Adebayo Adelabu resigned from office.
Tunji said the purported resignation letter circulating online did not originate from the minister’s office, stressing that Adelabu remains in his position.
“He has not resigned. That letter of resignation did not come from his office,” he stated.
The clarification follows speculation that the minister stepped down to pursue the 2027 Oyo State governorship race, amid a directive by Bola Tinubu for political appointees seeking elective positions to resign.
Tunji, however, noted that any decision regarding future political ambitions would be made public at the appropriate time.
