Protests erupt in Plateau over deadly Palm Sunday attack

Hundreds of residents in Plateau State defied a state-imposed curfew on Monday to protest the deadly Palm Sunday attack in Jos North Local Government Area, which claimed multiple lives.

The demonstration began at the massacre site in Anguwan Rukuba and was captured in a live TikTok stream obtained by Daily Post Nigeria. According to the footage, protesters gathered as early as 9 a.m., chanting and demanding urgent government intervention.

“They insisted that the curfew alone cannot address the recurring violence,” the livestream showed.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, was reported to have arrived at the scene amid the protests.

Residents called for more robust security measures, highlighting the growing frustration over repeated attacks in the state.

The government had earlier imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North LGA following the Anguwan Rukuba massacre in an effort to restore order and prevent further violence.
