JUST IN: INEC recognises Wike-Backed PDP National Working Committee

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially recognised the faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.


The electoral body reflected the update on its official website on Monday, publishing the revised leadership of the opposition party.


Those recognised include Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s national leadership.


Both officials emerged at the PDP National Convention held on Sunday at the National Stadium, Abuja, where members of the NWC were re-elected through consensus following the dissolution of the party’s national caretaker committee.
