Iraq Resumes Limited Oil Exports via Turkey
Iraq has resumed limited crude oil exports through Turkey’s port of Ceyhan Port, with an initial capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.
The move follows disruptions to exports caused by tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.
The state-owned North Oil Company confirmed that operations have restarted at the Sarlo pumping station to facilitate the export of Kirkuk crude.
It said it “has begun operating the Sarlo pumping station to resume pumping and exporting Kirkuk oil to the port of Ceyhan with an initial capacity of 250,000 barrels per day”.
Before the disruption, Iraq exported approximately 3.5 million barrels per day, with crude sales accounting for about 90 per cent of government revenue.
Authorities said the resumption followed agreements with the Kurdistan region, through which the export pipeline passes.
