Chelsea Fined £10.75m, Hit With Transfer Restrictions

Chelsea have been fined £10.75 million and received a suspended one-year transfer ban following findings related to historical regulatory breaches.

The club has also been given an immediate nine-month academy transfer ban.

The sanctions relate to information disclosed after the club’s ownership change in 2022.

Authorities found that between 2011 and 2018, undisclosed payments were made to players, agents, and related parties.

However, it was determined that the club would not have breached financial sustainability rules even if the payments had been properly recorded.

The club’s cooperation was considered a mitigating factor.

Officials noted Chelsea’s “proactive self-reporting, admissions of breach and exceptional co-operation.”
