Tambuwal Resigns From PDP, Joins ADC
Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a letter to his ward chairman dated March 11, 2026, Tambuwal cited persistent internal crises, leadership disagreements, and divisions within the PDP as reasons for his departure.
Tambuwal, who previously served as Speaker of the House of Representatives and later Governor of Sokoto State, expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities provided but said the party’s internal conflicts weakened its unity and direction.
He emphasized that his decision was guided by a desire for a political platform committed to integrity, accountability, inclusiveness, and national development. Tambuwal and his supporters have officially joined the ADC.
