Shettima to Lead Federal Delegation to Kano After Market Fire

President Bola Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead a federal delegation to Kano following the devastating fire at Singer Market.

The visit is intended to convey government sympathy and deliver assistance to traders who suffered heavy losses in the incident, which destroyed goods worth billions of naira.

The delegation includes senior lawmakers and officials from humanitarian and emergency agencies, who are expected to coordinate relief support and help speed up the reopening of the market.

The President has also ordered a comprehensive investigation into the repeated fire outbreaks affecting markets in the state, stressing the need to prevent future disasters and safeguard livelihoods.
