The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has described the decision of Abubakar Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to align with the APC as a blow to his father’s political credibility.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the younger Atiku’s decision undermines confidence in the former vice president’s political judgment.

Oladejo argued that the move raises questions about Atiku Abubakar’s leadership appeal, stating that political credibility begins at home.

He accused the former vice president of ideological inconsistency, describing his political career as marked by frequent party changes and alliances driven by personal ambition.

According to the APC spokesman, the decision of Atiku’s son reflects a rejection of what he described as outdated political approaches and an endorsement of the ruling party’s governance agenda.

The party welcomed the younger Atiku’s alignment with the APC, describing it as an affirmation of confidence in the administration’s policies and direction.
