Nigerian Navy Launches Recruitment for Basic Training School Batch 38

The Nigerian Navy has officially opened its recruitment portal for candidates interested in joining the Basic Training School Batch 38. The online registration period runs from October 2 to October 31, 2025, and applications are free of charge.
Successful applicants will undergo foundational military training before being formally enlisted as Ordinary Seamen in the Nigerian Navy. According to the Navy, only Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) are eligible to apply. Candidates must have no criminal record and must not be affiliated with any secret society, cult, or fraternity.
Applicants are required to complete an online form and print out several documents, including the Acknowledgement Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, Local Government Attestation Form, and Guarantor’s Certification Form. The Navy emphasized that submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
Educational qualifications vary by role. Candidates with O’level results must be between 18 and 22 years old by December 31, 2025. Those with OND or NCE qualifications must be between 18 and 26 years old, while Chaplain/Imam Assistants and Drivers/Mechanics must be between 18 and 28. All applicants must have at least five credits in English and Mathematics from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, obtained in no more than two sittings and not earlier than 2015.
Special roles such as Medical Assistants, Nurses, and other allied professionals require proof of registration with recognized professional bodies. Applicants for vocational trades like tailoring, plumbing, welding, and electrical work must present Trade Test certificates alongside academic credentials. Sports applicants must provide evidence of experience, including medals and certificates.
The recruitment examination is scheduled for November 29, 2025, at designated centers across Nigeria. Candidates must bring the Attestation Form with a passport photo of the signer and copies of a valid Driver’s License, International Passport, or National ID Card.
