Fire at Afriland Towers: United Capital Plc Initiates Emergency Business Protocols

United Capital Plc has issued a formal notice to the market regarding a fire incident that occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at its corporate headquarters located at Afriland Towers, 97/105 Broad Street, Lagos. The fire was swiftly contained through the coordinated efforts of the Federal Fire Service, Lagos State Fire Services, and the UBA Fire Service.

In response to the incident, the Board of United Capital Plc has immediately activated its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure uninterrupted operations and the protection of critical business processes. The company emphasized that the BCP had been updated and approved in 2020 specifically to address crises of this nature, ensuring that business activities continue without disruption.

The notice was issued on September 18, 2025, by Dr. Leo Okafor (PhD), FCIS, who serves as the Group Company Secretary and General Counsel.
