Dangote Refinery to Begin Free Fuel Distribution Monday
The Dangote Refinery has announced that it will commence its free fuel distribution programme on Monday, starting with Lagos, the South-West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States.
Anthony Chiejina, Group spokesperson, confirmed the development in a statement, adding that the refinery has also reduced retail petrol prices to ₦841 per litre in Lagos and the South-West, and ₦851 per litre in Abuja and other listed states.
The initiative, which was initially scheduled for August but delayed by logistics challenges in China, is set to roll out with over 1,000 trucks already delivered for nationwide distribution.
More states are expected to benefit as additional CNG-powered trucks arrive, with Dangote outlining plans for 10,000 vehicles to strengthen logistics and reduce costs despite recent spikes in CNG prices.
According to the company, the large-scale roll-out is designed to ease distribution challenges in the domestic economy and ensure that Nigerians benefit directly from the refinery’s operations.
