Breaking: SDP Expels El-Rufai Ahead of 2027 Election
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has officially expelled former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, banning him from associating with the party for 30 years.
The party’s national working committee announced that the decision followed El-Rufai’s alleged manipulation of internal processes, unconstitutional actions, and misrepresentation of his membership status.
Despite claiming affiliation, El-Rufai reportedly failed to register at his ward and engaged in political dealings under the SDP’s name without formal authority. The party said his actions conflicted with its constitution and core principles.
The move comes after El-Rufai resigned from the All Progressives Congress in March and later aligned with the African Democratic Congress coalition to oppose President Bola Tinubu in 2027. SDP emphasized that El-Rufai’s expulsion was final and followed due constitutional process
