Bayern in Advanced Talks with Liverpool Over £69m Luis Diaz Transfer
Bayern Munich are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Liverpool for the transfer of Colombian winger Luis Diaz, in a deal valued at £69 million (€80 million). The Bundesliga champions had an initial bid of £58.5 million (€67 million) rejected but have returned with an improved offer that has accelerated discussions.
Diaz, 28, has expressed his desire to join Bayern, prompting Liverpool to engage in talks. He was notably absent from Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against AC Milan, with manager Arne Slot confirming that the omission was due to ongoing transfer speculation. Slot stated that Diaz was training well but was not selected to play amid the uncertainty.
Diaz joined Liverpool from FC Porto in January 2022 for £37.5 million and has two years remaining on his contract. Despite initial reluctance to sell, Liverpool now views the proposed fee as a sensible business decision given the player’s age and market conditions.
