Manchester United on verge of Signing Spain U21 Star Javi Guerra
Manchester United are getting close to signing Javi Guerra, a talented 22-year-old midfielder from Valencia CF, as the club prepares to strengthen its team for the 2025/26 season.
According to reports from FootballTransfers and Sports Mole, United are close to sealing the deal. Although Guerra has a €100 million release clause, sources say Valencia may accept a lower fee between €24 million and €30 million because of financial problems.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato, quoted by FootballTransfers, says Manchester United are working hard to bring Guerra in as part of their new manager Rúben Amorim’s plans for a fresh and younger squad.
Guerra has been one of the best players in a struggling Valencia team and has played over 80 matches in La Liga. He’s known for his energy, ability to defend well, and control the game from midfield. United believe he can be an important part of their future.
This move shows United’s new direction: bringing in young and dynamic players. With older stars like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen possibly leaving, the club wants new midfield talent who can grow with the team.
Valencia had previously said Guerra was not for sale, but The Peoples Person reported in May that their money problems could force them to let him go. Arsenal have also shown interest, along with top clubs like AC Milan,Atlético Madrid, and Aston Villa. But United are believed to be ahead in the race.
So far, neither Valencia nor Manchester United have confirmed the deal. But if things go as expected, Guerra could become one of United’s key summer signings. More updates about his personal terms and medical test may come soon.
Manchester United are also trying to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The winger would join three players already signed: Matheus Cunha (from Wolves), Diego León (a left-back from Cerro Porteño), and Enzo Kana-Biyik (a young defender from Le Havre).
United will begin their pre-season games in Solna, Swedenand then travel to the U.S. for the Premier League Summer Series Their first match is on July 26 against West Ham United in East Rutherford, New Jersey
The Premier League season starts on Sunday, August 17 with Manchester United playing Arsenal at Old Trafford
