Spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against considering Rabiu Kwankwaso as a potential running mate in the 2027 general elections.

In a video message, Ayodele stated that replacing Vice President Kashim Shettima could negatively affect Tinubu’s reelection chances. According to him, making Kwankwaso the vice-presidential candidate would be politically costly.

The cleric also advised Tinubu against relying heavily on recent defectors into the ruling party and warned against appointing George Akume as the All Progressives Congress national chairman. He suggested that such a move could weaken the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections.

Ayodele emphasized that the political maneuvers surrounding the 2027 polls are rooted in deeper strategies, warning the president not to underestimate internal party dynamics and emerging opposition alliances.

He urged Tinubu to maintain Shettima as his running mate and focus on broader unity within the party to avoid electoral pitfalls.
