Nigerian Delegation Arrives in Saudi Arabia Ahead of Dantata’s Burial

A delegation of senior Nigerian government officials and religious leaders has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the burial of prominent businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who passed away at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi.

Leading the delegation is the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. He is joined by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Also in attendance are respected Islamic scholars and clerics, including Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, who serves as the Imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja.

The delegation was received in Madinah by Nigeria’s Consul General in Jeddah, Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, who has been coordinating the funeral arrangements.

Alhaji Dantata’s remains were flown from Abu Dhabi to Madinah, where he will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Rabi’a Dantata, in accordance with Islamic rites. The burial is scheduled for Monday.
