Glass Shattered and Tensions High as Security Storms PDP Meeting
Tensions rose at the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday as security personnel forcefully removed individuals from the party’s caucus meeting, leading to the shattering of a glass door.
The meeting, scheduled to be held in the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall, turned chaotic when two individuals—said not to be official members of the NEC—refused to comply with protocol officers who asked them to leave. Security operatives stepped in, and a physical altercation ensued, during which the glass entrance to the hall was broken, briefly halting proceedings.
Witnesses reported that the incident unfolded as party leaders and other key members were arriving, igniting concerns over internal discipline and security protocols. It remains unclear who the ejected individuals were or their intentions for accessing the restricted event. An official statement from the party was still pending at the time of reporting.
