Nigeria Declares Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr Celebration

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced March 31 and April 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In a statement, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, conveyed warm wishes to Muslims, urging them to embrace virtues such as self-discipline, compassion, and generosity cultivated during Ramadan.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, emphasized the importance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in fostering a harmonious society. He encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period for prayer, focusing on national peace, stability, and prosperity.

The Minister also called for safe and responsible celebrations, urging citizens to remember the less privileged through acts of kindness and charity. He expressed hope that the occasion would inspire unity and cooperation across religious and ethnic divides, extending heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslim faithful.
