Niger State Bans Unauthorized Study Leave For All Categories Of Teachers.

Niger State Commissioner Of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammad has issued a stern warning against unauthorized leave from schools for study purposes by Teachers

The Commissioner issued the order during an interactive meeting held with school managers, principals, Head Teachers, Zonal Quality Assurance Directors of Zone A in Bida Local Government.

The meeting, was aimed at addressing pressing educational concerns, highlighted the importance of maintaining professional conduct among educators.

She emphasized that teachers must seek proper permission before pursuing any study-related leave while underscoring the potential negative impact on student in terms of teaching, learning and other schools’ operations.

She added that unauthorized absences without proper planning disrupt the educational process and can hinder student progress, as such it can’t be tolerated anymore.

Dr. Hadiza Asabe Muhammad also addressed the recent announcement by the Executive Governor, Muhammad Umaru Bago regarding the stoppage of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) levies in all public schools.

She reiterated that this directive remains in effect until further notice from the Governor, urging school leaders to comply with the new policy to ensure a unified approach to funding and resource allocation to the education sector.

She expressed her commitment to working closely with school Managers and others to address challenges and promote a positive educational atmosphere for the common children in the State.

In her welcome Address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Aishatu Nuhu Yerwa maintained that the State Government, under the leadership of the Muhammad Umaru Bago is aiming at enhancing the overall quality of education in the State.

Also in her Address, the Director General Schools and Educational Reforms, Hajiya Maimuna Muhammad, spoke at length on how the Ministry has achieved the enhanced Boarding Schools Feeding and the need for all Schools to revive the Schools Farm which are part of the reforms in the Education Sector.

In their various submissions, the Deputy State Coordinator, Niger State Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Malam Salisu Danjuma, the Director Planing Research and Statistics of the Ministry, Abdulmalik Nungbe,the Director Test Measurement and Evaluation, Abdullahi Garba Asab and the Director Schools and Educational Services of the Ministry, Malam Hassan Muhammad as well as representative of the Executive Chairman NSUBEB, Malam Abdulmumin Baba Fada, highlighted issues of their respective departments, all geared towards improving the quality of education in State.
