Road mishap claims lives in Niger state

Two trailer trucks carrying goods and human being was involved in their separate accidents where several people feared dead between Lavun and Mokwa local government areas of Niger state.
It was gathered that the first accident happened at Kutigi town in Lavun local government area where a trailer truck conveying cows and passengers mostly young man between the ages of 25 and 35 years old identified to be okada riders going to the Southern part of the country for their business.
It was further revealed that the vehicle was from Katsina state going towards south when its brake failed while entering Kutigi town in Lavun local government area leading to the accident that claimed many lives leaving others with various degrees of injuries.
Our sources confirmed in Minna that the residents discovered that vehicle has lost control and run for their safety while trying to ram on them before the body cought off from the vehicle head before the accident occurred with many casualties.
Similarly, another trailer truck carrying goods and passengers had an accident around Labozi near Kudu in Mokwa local government area of the sending many lives to their untimely dead.
Community sources said that the accidents were caused by fatigue and sleep on the part of the drivers in the process leading to the fatal accidents while calling on drivers especially the tanker and trailer truck drivers to be conscious of the consequences of not resting for a very long journey.
When contacted the Niger state commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr Kumar Tsukwan confirmed the incidents nothing that he was at a workshop in Abuja and will get back but he couldn’t until the time of filing the report.
