Cheers and Joy as Winners Emerge in NASCHO Hair Creative Competition 2024 in Ogun State

Ifo, Ogun State – Winners have emerged from the National Association of Hair Stylists and Cosmetologists (NASCHO) Hair Creative Competition 2024, held recently at the Abigail Omotayo Event Center, Alameda Bus-stop, Ifo.

The event sponsored by Kanekalun and its partners, X-Pression and Darling Hair drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 370 attendees, showcasing the creativity and talent within the hair styling community.

In a remarkable display of artistry, Oyebade Idowu and her model, Amosun Radiat, both from Owode, claimed the coveted first place, winning a brand new generator, a cash prize of 150,000 Naira, and additional prizes. Adefonlu Owosimbo and her model Akinyemi Ayomide from Remo secured the second position, while Babatunde Nafisat from Ifo took home the third prize.

The program kicked off with an electrifying session of praise and worship, setting a vibrant tone for the day. In her welcome address, NASCHO National President Angela Akande emphasized the importance of continuous learning and engagement, encouraging attendees to participate actively in the upcoming lectures and quizzes.

“We must not limit ourselves but aspire to greatness,” Akande urged, reinforcing the association’s mission to uplift the hair styling profession.

The event also featured insights from Meibe Egbebo, a representative of Kaneka Corporation from Ghana. She highlighted the company’s evolution from fiber manufacturing to a comprehensive solutions provider, noting partnerships with Nigerian brands such as X-Pression and Darling Hair.

Mary Sia further elaborated on the national program, which aims to introduce Ruwa Braid across all 36 states of Nigeria. She described Ruwa Braid as “magic” due to its innovative water-resistant technology developed through collaborations between Kanekalun and X-Pression.

The NASCHO Hair Creative Competition is not just a celebration of talent but also a significant step toward enhancing the professional standards and visibility of hairstylists in Nigeria.
