Sanwo-Olu Appoints Adetola John as Lagos State Accountant-General

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Adetola John as the new Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary of the State Treasury Office (STO).

The redeployment follows the statutory retirement of the outgoing Accountant-General, Dr. Abiodun Muritala. Adetola John was previously serving as the State Auditor-General.

An official circular from the Office of the Head of Service confirmed that the appointment took immediate effect from Monday, March 2, 2026.

Bode Agoro, the Head of Service, commended Adetola’s appointment, urging all stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. He noted that the strategic redeployment underscores the state government’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and continuity in public financial management.
