The All Progressives Congress has inaugurated the governing council of the Progressive Institute as part of moves aimed at strengthening democratic governance and policy development in Nigeria.

The council was formally inaugurated in Abuja by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, who said the institute reflects the broader vision of President Bola Tinubu to entrench research-based and data-informed politics in the country.

Yilwatda explained that the institute was created on the President’s directive to function as the party’s think tank and intellectual hub, providing research support and strategic policy insights.

He noted that the institute is expected to enhance governance quality by promoting evidence-based decision-making, strengthening political leadership, and encouraging policy innovation.

According to him, the governing council will guide the institute’s activities and ensure it fulfils its role in shaping ideas that support national development and democratic growth.
