Tottenham Hotspur Sack Thomas Frank After Poor Premier League Run

Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with head coach Thomas Frank after less than eight months in charge, following a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United. The loss left Spurs 16th in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone.

Frank, formerly manager of Brentford, took over in June 2025 after the sacking of Ange Postecoglou. Despite securing Champions League qualification to the Round of 16, Frank’s record in domestic competitions was disappointing, with only two wins in the last 17 league matches and early exits from both the FA Cup and League Cup.

In a statement, Tottenham said: “The club has decided to make a change in the men’s head coach position. Thomas has shown commitment throughout his tenure, but results and performances necessitate a change at this point in the season. We thank him for his efforts and wish him success in future endeavors.”

Spurs now face the task of appointing a replacement who can reverse their poor Premier League form while continuing to compete in European competitions.
