Blackburn Rovers Complete Signing of Oladapo Afolayan
Championship side Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Oladapo Afolayan from German club St. Pauli on a permanent deal running until June 2027.
The 28-year-old returns to English football three years after leaving Bolton Wanderers, joining Blackburn for an undisclosed fee. The club described Afolayan as a dynamic and direct attacker who brings pace, creativity, and goal threat to Ewood Park.
Afolayan developed through the Chelsea and West Ham academies and has built a diverse career across England, Germany, Canada, and non-league football. During his time at St. Pauli, he made 93 appearances across all competitions, scoring 16 league goals and providing seven assists.
Born in London, Afolayan has committed his international future to Nigeria and hopes to earn a Super Eagles call-up. At Blackburn, he will reunite with fellow Nigerian Ryan Alebiosu as he begins the next phase of his career.
