Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has been formally welcomed into the All Progressives Congress, completing his transition from the PDP to the ruling party.

The state APC chairman, Tony Okocha, led the delegation to Government House, Port Harcourt, alongside the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. During the visit, Governor Fubara filled out the necessary documents and was presented with his membership slip and card.

Okocha said he was mandated by the party’s national leadership to officially receive the governor. He commended Fubara for aligning with the political direction of President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence that Rivers State would now work in closer synergy with the federal government.

According to Okocha, the party is prepared to fully support the governor’s leadership and ensure the consolidation of political collaboration in the state.

Responding, Governor Fubara said aligning Rivers State with the federal government was essential for the state’s development. He emphasised that his decision was strategic and aimed at ensuring political stability and enhancing infrastructural and economic growth.

He added that joining the APC would also help guarantee strong support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Fubara pledged to strengthen the APC in Rivers State, assuring the party executives that the administration would prioritise their needs and build a united structure capable of delivering victory in future elections.
