Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has inaugurated 30 commissioners, 25 elected local government chairmen with their vice chairmen, and newly appointed board members of key state agencies.

The ceremony, held at the Hauwa Wali Multi-Purpose Hall in Government House, Minna, was supervised by Justice Maimuna Abubakar of High Court 6, who represented the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Abdulmalik.

Governor Bago said the individuals were selected based on competence, integrity, and strong performance records. He expressed confidence that the appointees would drive policies and programmes capable of advancing the state’s development.

He urged them to reflect on previous governance gaps and work together to build a sustainable, inclusive, and progressive Niger State.
According to him, “The New Niger Agenda requires dedication, discipline, and measurable results. I expect everyone here to give their best for the good of our state.”

Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, reminded the officials of the weight of responsibility before them. He noted that their performance would be central to the success of the administration’s goals and revealed that a special retreat had been organised to align them with government priorities.

Among those sworn in were members of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), the Secondary Education Board, and the Law Reform Commission.

Several newly inaugurated officials expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve, pledging full commitment to the New Niger vision.
