Bauchi Govt To Consider Creation Of Budget Line For ACJL/ACJMC

As the implementation of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) records significant achievements in Bauchi, the state government has indicated interest in creating a budget line to further strengthen and sustain its implementation and monitoring.
The Director, Civil Litigation, Bauchi state ministry of Justice, Honourable Yusuf Adamu gave the indication in response to the request made by the Centre for Law Enforcement Education (CLEEN) foundation in his office on Wednesday.
He assured the CLEEN foundation team that all their requests, especially for the creation of budget line to aid the implementation of ACJL would be conveyed to the Attorney General (AG) and Commissioner of justice for consideration.
Our correspondent reports that a combined team of CLEEN foundation officials and the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC) were at the Bauchi state ministry of Justice on an advocacy visit to strengthen the administration of
Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) in the state.
The Director Civil Litigation, commended the foundation for doing well in collaboration with the Civil Society Organizations in Bauchi State in the area of Building their capacities at different levels.
The Director observed that the collaboration is also strengthening the systems of all organisations working around the ACJL as well as the implementation of the ACJL.
He assured CLEEN foundation that the doors of the justice ministry are always wide open to receive them any time the need arises.
Hon Yusuf Adamu further commended the efforts of the Civil Society Organizations Observatory Group for advocating for the effective implementation of the ACJL in Bauchi State.
Earlier speaking, the team lead, Mr. Mbami Iliya Sabka, the Executive Director Council for affirmative action (COFAA), appreciated the Ministry of Justice for their continued support to the protection of the rights and privileges of the citizens of the state as provided in the law.
He further advocated for the creation of a budget line for the effective implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) in Bauchi state.
According to Mr. Sabka, the budget line when created, will ensure smooth implementation of the law.
