Governor Nwifuru Launches Construction Of 24km Okwo-Umuogudu Oshia-Nigercem Road

The governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has officially flagged off the construction of Okwo-Umuogudu Oshia-Nigercem 24km Okwo-Umuogudu Oshia-Nigercem 24km road.

Nwifuru, however assured the host community that the construction of the said road will be completed in 18 months.

ABUJA POST reports that the flag-off ceremony was met with jubilation and excitement from the members of the community who have long awaited the commencement of the project.

The governor, who was represented by the Deputy governor, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, assured the residents of Ngbo that the road would be completed within a reasonable timeframe of 18 months.

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing the needs of Ebonyians and warned the contractor handling the project against delivering substandard job.

In a bid to ensure quality and timely completion, the Commissioner for Works, Stanley Lebechi Mbam, pledged strict supervision of the construction process to uphold project specifications.

He called upon the community to actively monitor and protect the construction materials and workforce, emphasizing that any interference would result in contract termination.

Notable figures who spoke during the flag off including the Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chinedu Onah, local government Chairman, Commissioners, and the Community Regent expressed gratitude to Governor Nwifuru for prioritizing the road construction project.

They pledged unwavering support throughout his tenure, acknowledging the significant impact the newly flagged off road would have on the area’s accessibility and economic development.

The event, attended by government officials and enthusiastic community members, showcased a strong display of unity and appreciation for Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure.

The commencement of the Okwo-Umuogudu Oshia-Nigercem Road construction marks a promising chapter in Ebonyi State’s development.
