Eid-el-Fitr: Tinubu urges prayers for peace, unity in Nigeria
President Bola Tinubu has called on Muslims across Nigeria to use the occasion of Eid al-Fitr to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the President congratulated Muslim faithful and urged them to uphold the values of Ramadan beyond the fasting period.
“We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period,” Tinubu said.
He encouraged Nigerians to show empathy and extend kindness to the less privileged, irrespective of religion, stressing the need for unity and shared humanity.
“As Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid-el-Fitr… President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Muslim faithful in Nigeria, urging renewed commitment to the nation and humanity,” the statement added.
