CBN Warns Customers Against Sharing Banking Details
The Central Bank of Nigeria has advised customers not to share their PINs, passwords, or sensitive banking information with anyone.
In a public advisory, the apex bank emphasized vigilance amid increasing fraud cases.
“Protect your money by protecting your information. As we mark Global Money Week 2026, remember: your PINs, passwords, and banking details should never be shared with anyone, not even someone claiming to be from your bank. Stay alert. Stay safe.”
The bank reiterated that fraudsters often impersonate officials through phone calls, text messages, and emails.
It urged customers to remain cautious and protect their financial data.
