Iranian authorities have maintained a defiant stance amid growing international concern over the scale of violence used to suppress protests across the country

Government officials said the state remained fully in control and accused foreign actors of orchestrating unrest to provoke external intervention. Security agencies reported no new large-scale demonstrations, while prosecutors announced fast-track trials for detainees.

Human rights organisations, however, reported thousands of protester deaths and widespread arrests during a nationwide internet blackout that limited independent verification of events.

Several governments took precautionary measures, including closing embassies, issuing travel warnings and rerouting airline flights away from Iranian airspace. The UN Security Council was convened to review the situation following requests from the United States.
