Senegal claimed their second Africa Cup of Nations title after defeating hosts Morocco 1–0 in a dramatic final that was decided in extra time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The closely contested match was marked by intense drama, controversial officiating decisions, and a prolonged delay following protests by Senegalese players late in regulation time.

After a goalless 90 minutes, Senegal finally broke the deadlock in extra time when Pape Gueye fired home a decisive strike to seal the victory.

Morocco had earlier missed a crucial penalty following a VAR review, a moment that proved pivotal as Senegal went on to defend their lead despite sustained pressure from the hosts.

The victory marks Senegal’s second continental crown, adding to their 2021 triumph, while Morocco were denied the chance to lift the trophy on home soil.
