Five 2 Media Unveils New Film “Remi X Nneoma”

Five 2 Media Entertainment has announced the release of its latest film, Remi X Nneoma, marking the production company’s return to the Nigerian film industry with a story that explores themes of love, grief, and emotional healing.

The drama presents a fresh and intimate perspective on loss and resilience, inspired by the biblical tale of Ruth and Naomi. The film focuses on the lives of two women, highlighting their struggles and the unbreakable bonds that help them navigate personal tragedy and rebuild their lives.

Remi X Nneoma tells the emotional story of the Amadi women, brought together by grief. After the sudden death of a loved one, Nneoma chooses to stay in Ikwerre, close to her community and heritage. Her daughter-in-law, Remi, decides to remain with her, defying societal expectations. Together, they confront the challenges of widowhood, cultural pressure, and the delicate path to healing.

In the quiet aftermath of their shared loss, Remi unexpectedly discovers new love, offering both women a renewed sense of hope. The story reflects the quiet strength and resilience required to move forward after tragedy, capturing the everyday courage of countless women.

This film marks a creative comeback for Five 2 Media, known for titles such as On the Edge, Full Circle, Xtra Mile, and A Night in 2005. With Remi X Nneoma, the company takes a new direction, emphasizing character-driven storytelling and emotional depth.

The film is spearheaded by Executive Producer Solate Ovundah-Akarolo, who previously earned recognition at the Toronto Nollywood International Film Festival for Xtra Mile. She is joined by award-winning actress and producer Bikiya Graham-Douglas, who not only produced Remi X Nneoma but also stars in it. Together, they lead an all-women creative leadership team—a rarity in mainstream Nollywood productions.

Directed by Lyndsey Efejuku, the film benefits from her nuanced and authentic approach to storytelling. The soundscape is curated by acclaimed music supervisor Kalinè, whose work on Breath of Life and After 30 has been praised for its emotional resonance.

The cast features some of Nollywood’s finest talents. Bisola Aiyeola delivers a deeply emotional performance as Remi, capturing the quiet strength of a woman rebuilding her life. Veteran actress Liz Benson Ameye portrays Nneoma with dignity and grace. The film also stars Uche Montana and Ifeanyi Kalu, with special appearances by Eucharia Anunobi, Martha Ehinome, Kelechi Udegbe, Tina Mba, Kunle Coker, and Buchi Franklin.

Written by Priye Diri and Adelarin Awotedu, Remi X Nneoma explores the evolving relationship between two women who grow to understand and support each other. It addresses the realities of widowhood, societal expectations, and the transformative power of human connection.
