Buhari to Be Buried in Daura on Monday

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest on Monday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
The former leader reportedly died at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at a clinic in London, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
His death was confirmed by his former media aide, Garba Shehu, in a statement posted on social media.
In response to the news, President Bola Tinubu expressed his condolences and has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to London to accompany Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for burial.
Buhari served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023 and remained a prominent political figure until his passing. His burial in Daura is expected to draw significant national attention.
