Gov. Nwifuru Flags-off Distribution of Medical Equipment , launches Drug Revolving Fund

As part of the efforts to improve in delivering quality healthcare services to Ebonyi people, Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has officially flagged-off the Distribution of Hospital equipments, consumables and Drugs Revolving Fund (DRF)
to the thirteen General Hospitals in the state.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at the International conference center (ICC) Abakaliki, the state capital, Governor Nwifuru said the event was a clear demonstration of his administration’s determination to revitalize the healthcare. services of Ebonyians
He explained that the Drug Revolving Fund, was a major component of the activation program designed to ensure the continuous availability of quality and affordable essential medicines in all general hospitals.
“The revolving nature of the fund guarantees sustainability, transparency, and accountability, particularly critical for rural communities who often lack access to life-saving drugs. He further revealed that over 60% of essential drugs have already been delivered across hospitals, with full distribution underway”
The equipments, includings: hospital beds, patient monitors, mattresses, drip stands, and consumables. noting the instruments are life-saving service which if must be properly utilized wound benefit Ebonyians.
Nwifuru announced that the recent recruited Medical Doctors who have been deployed to general hospitals across the state will henceforth receive #500,000. 00 as their monthly salaries. He also emphasized his administration’s ongoing collaborations with relevant institutions to ensure continuous training and retraining of health personnel in accordance with global best practices.
He charged Traditional Rulers, community leaders, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders to take ownership of the health facilities, warned against mismanagement or diversion of public resources.
