Gaza: Israel Never Wanted or Chose This Horrific War – Amb.Freeman reechoed in kaduna

..As Nigerian Christians Celebrate Israel at 77

An Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria Amb. Michael Freeman said his country Israel never wanted and never choose this horrific war or any of the wars his country has fought or fighting.

Amb. Freeman reechoed this in a speech delivered at the celebrations of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) prayer outreach Nigeria, held on Sunday evening at Abundant Life Christian Assembly in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna by the state chapter.

The theme of this year’s cereberation held in Angwan Sunday is titled: “Commemorating Israel at 77”.

Earlier in an address delivered by the Executive Secretary of CUFI Rev. Dr. Samson Ozovene during the special celebrations of the state Israel at 77 in kaduna, Rev Ozovene said CUFI started in 2009 worldwide, with a goal to unite in prayers and solidarity for Israel on same day, as the Israel celebrates her modern statehood.

The Executive secretary said millions of christians in over 60 countries including Nigeria and other African nations have stood in solidarity with Israel since the beginning of the celebration in 2009.

He said in 2018, Israel at 70 (CUFI Sunday) held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja -Nigeria was historic, and was organized in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Rev. Ozovene also said “As christian in Nigeria today join millions of others worldwide in solidarity with Israel as she celebrates 77 years of modern statehood, we must strengthen our resolves to stay in the course”.

In the speech he titled: One Person Can make a Difference” Rev. Ozovene recalled that the late Elie Wiesel, awarded the Nobel peace prize in 1986 for speaking out against violence, repression and racism, once said “One person of integrity can make a difference”.

“And he was right. This is the core of my messages on this celebration as I admonish you to continue to defend Israel to comfort the Jewish people and to combat anti-semitism wherever found more than ever”, he stated.

He said as the anti-semitism raised its ugly head across the globe CUFI need continued support in the months to come and ensued that millions are dedicated with the truth about Israel and the Jewish people.

The ES added “We as Bible believers, standing with God’s people of Israel, can get weighed down looking at circumstances around us, and perhaps even the growing coalition against Israel”

“It is further challenging when sometimes even members of our faith stand opposite us, however, we have cause, “for Zion’s sake | will not keep silent” (Isaiah 62:1). We have a reason to continue. We do have a cause, to bless Israel, and stand in their defense.

“lsrael faces existential threats today. | hope Christians in our nation; Nigeria will lend their forces to the call for the worldwide recognition of he sovereignty of the state of Israel. This will be a roadmap to genuine and lasting peace in the Middle East.

“You can make a difference. Speak out, make your voice count, and be counted in the court of heaven”, he said.

Amb Michael Freeman, in his speech, also recalled that exactly 77 years ago, Israel first prime minister David Ben Gurion red Israel’s declaration of independence, saying Gurion’s words were as relevant today as they were inn1948, in terms of peace and amity to al neighboring states and people.

Amb. Freeman’s remarks also quoted that “Israel never wanted and never chose this horrific war. Not this war, and any of the wars that we have bought.

“All we have ever wanted is to return to Zion, to return to our ancient homeland, to build a flourishing state, to build a Jewish and Democratic state.

“To build life. To build future. To have hope. We have ever dream for peace, with all our neighbors and wish all the nations of the world. And we’ll never cause striving for that vision”, he said.

He also restated that “However, if our enemies, led by Iran,threaten to distroy us we will do everything we need to defend our people. Let’s be clear; If tomorrow Hamas were to lay down their arms the war on Gaza would be over. If Israel were to lay down our arms, Hamas and others backed by Iran would wipe Israel off the face of the earth”.

He expressed lamentation that currently 59 hostages still remain in captivity, starved, beaten and turtured in Hamas terror tunnels of Gaza, attributing it to reasons Israel continue operate in Gaza, to bring them home and ensured that Hamas will never carry out such atrocities ever again, “But alongside the tragedy and terror, Israel and Israelis have shown incredible resilience”.

Many prominent Pastors, reverend and christian leaders were present at the event including the one who made 20 times visit to Israel, and who advised christians to pray for state of Israel every morning and received bountiful blessing of God.

Dignitaries are Elder Archbishop JJ Yari, Rev Musa D, Joel Madaki Apostles Yakubu Bityon, Apostles Simon Ibrahim and Samson O. Zakariah, Ikpeme, and Amb Fidel respectfully.

Highlight of the prayers includes special presentations of CUFI the journey so far, CUFI chair, presentation of summit delegates and football tournament trophy respectfully.
